What is the Double Click Test?
Why Test for Double Clicks
Worn mouse switches often register two clicks from a single press — losing you items in games, closing tabs, or messing up drag selections. This test measures the gap between your clicks and flags anything under 80 ms as a hardware double click.
How to Use It
Single-click the test area at a steady, relaxed pace for 20–30 clicks. Green entries are normal. If red DOUBLE entries appear while you are only single-clicking, your mouse switch is misfiring.
Can It Be Fixed?
Sometimes. Compressed air in the switch, updated mouse firmware, or adjusting debounce time in your mouse software (some gaming mice allow this) can help. Persistent doubling usually means the switch needs replacing.

Intentional human clicks on one button are almost never faster than 80 ms apart; switch bounce is typically 5–30 ms.
