What is Drag Clicking?

The Technique

Drag clicking rolls a slightly tacky fingertip across the mouse button so friction vibrates the switch, registering a burst of clicks from one motion. Skilled players exceed 20–30 CPS.

You Need the Right Mouse

Drag clicking depends on the button surface and switch: matte, grippy shells work best. Glossy or heavily debounced mice register almost nothing — a low score here often means your mouse, not your finger.

How to Drag Click

Dry your fingertip (some players use tape), press lightly, and drag from the back of the button toward the front in one smooth motion. Listen for the grinding buzz — that sound is your clicks.

FAQ

Why do I get only 2–3 CPS?

Your mouse likely debounces the vibration; drag clicking simply does not work on many mice.

Is it allowed in Minecraft?

Most competitive servers ban drag clicking for bridging; use it in casual play only.

Does it damage the mouse?

Yes, faster than any other technique — the switch takes hundreds of actuations per drag.

What is a good score?

Anything above 15 CPS means the technique is working; 25+ is elite.
